Dragon Den Question of the Week
What color best represents you? Why?
The color that best represents me is the color yellow, because I am a bright person and I am constantly happy. I love to laugh, and enjoy being around other people who make me laugh, and who are optimistic about everything.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Achievement
My greatest high school achievment was maintaining my grade for both years of being an underclassmen. I worked extreamley hard to keep up my grades. In the begginning it was easy to keep them up because the work was simple, but when we started to get into the harder work it started to get diffucult to keep it up. I got behind in my work, but then later on made up all my work and achieved good grades. I am proud of what I have done in school over the past two years, and i hope to continue doing well, and even better then how I am doing now, because I know that if I put my mind to anything i want to accomplish, i know that i can do it.

Portfolio - Improvement
Over the past two years, I have been working on my different areas of English. Before I was in high school my writing skills were extremely poor, but now that I have been in Ms. Priester’s English 9 and 10 class my writing skills have improved the a much higher level, and I am now one of the top writers of my class. My reading skills have always been high, even before high school. I am happy that i still got to work on my reading, because I can always get better. Since being in high school my speaking skills have improved a tremendous amount. Before I would use incorrect grammar constantly and sometimes use the wrong words in place of others. Working in groups have always been easy for me, but being in high school I have worked with a group many more times then I had expected. Before entering Ms. Priester’s class my technology skills were semi-good, but since I have been in her class I have learned how to use new tools, that I didn’t even know existed. We learned how to use a blog, create podcasts, make websites, create word clouds, and many other things. In order to continue my educational improvment I am going to work even harder in my English 11 and 12 classes. I am going to study more, continue to learn educational websites to help me in class, and continue to use everything I have learned in all my classes.

Portfolio - Future
My future is going to be very bright. I know that I am going to be successful. My goal, is to try to get a $.0 my whole Junior year, and graduate from high school with my diploma. Afterwards I plan to got to collage at SDSU if I can get accepted. I hope to have a few scholarships to help me pay my way through collage. I want to get my associates degree, and then try to get into Med school to try to get my Doctorate degree(PHD). I hope to become a doctor in the futere. I am not sure what kind of doctor I want to become, but I know that is the field I want to work in. My past experiances have helped me to work towards my future goals, by helping me to overcome obstacles, and problems that will help me to succed in the future. In order to reach my goals I will have to continue working hard in school, and continue to stive for the best. I believe that if I stay in contact with the right people, like Mr. Orozco, and other people, that they can help me to achieve these goals. I know that if I continue to work hard and continue doing what I already am, that I will be successful and accomplish these goals.

Portfolio - My Educational Experiences
Due to my educational experiences, I feel that I am sometimes behind in all my school work, and it is also sometimes difficult for me to understand things that are talked about in class when they are review for most kids. Going to over thirty schools has effected my learning dramatically, but I always try to catch up. Sometimes while being a foster youth you move around so many schools that you miss a lo of school, and learning. Many Foster Youth are behind in school because of the several moves they have to endure. To make sure that I don't fall behind in school, I constantly do my work and try to pay attention in all my classes. By doing these things I have been catching up in all my work and it is becoming easier for me to understand things in classes. I hope to continue doing good in my work and at school.

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle
I would say that for most people that the greatest obstacle while being in high school, is trying to deal with drama. I have had a lot of drama over the past two years. Most of the drama I have had has been over friends that were fighting over a boy, and I usually got stuck in the middle of it. I lot of the time there are many people who bring themselves into drama when it has nothing to do with them. Another thing was sometimes difficult for me was trying to manage my schoolwork while playing a sport. I played three sports in my freshman year, but I only played one sport this year because I had a job, and I was trying to work harder for school. There are many hard obstacles in high school, but I know that I can handle them as they come.

I have been working at Foot Locker for about three weeks now, and I am really stating to like it. I love everyone that I work with. They are always making us laugh and crack up. The funniest people that we work with are the two girls named B. B. and Shelby. Yesterday at work, Amy and I, barley did any work at all because we were to busy laughing with our manager B.B. She was making us laugh like crazy. It was a really slow day so we didn't really have any customers so it was OK that we were talking, because we were working at the same time. All we really had to do was clean a little bit, and fold some clothes that were in the front, because they were messed up. Even when we are having a busy day at work, I really like it because we can still be really busy and have fun at the same time. I like working with the customers and helping them. I thought in the beginning that work was going to be boring and long, but I was wrong. It's exciting and fun.
Playwrights Project Play Completion Reflection
I feel accomplished for finishing my play. I am so happy with my play because I have never written a play before. I think that my play is really good for my first time, because it has a lot of detail and i put a lot of effort into it. Now that we are done with them I can focus on all of my other school work, like all of my make up work that I need to do. Also I was getting behind in some of my classes because I was trying to focus on writting the play, so I am happy to be done with our playwrights. My favorite part about having Ms. Olivia coming in and helping us write our plays was when she would have us play all the games and activites that helped us to learn about writing and team work. I am excited for next year when we get to write another play.

SPA Prom 2011 or Free Write
On Saturday, May 20th, we had our prom t the Hotel Coranado. Everyone was so excited for it to happen. Right after school, everyone rushed home to get ready. I had to go to the mall to buy something at the last minute. I had gotten my dress all the way from China, because it was really cheap compared to all the prices anywhere else. My dress was black and had a lace design. I bought my shoes at Closet, in the mall. I was extreamly excited for prom. I was going to prom with Marcus, and we actually had a lot of fun. He was a really funny dancer. When we got to the Hotel we took a couple pictures, and then we went inside to have fun. When we were walking inside everyone at the hotel was staring at us, because we were all dressed up aand pretty. The music at prom was not that good, but it was still fun to dance. The food was also really good. It was a roast beef, with mash potatos, which were really good. My favorite part was the ice cream, because they had a lot o0f things to go alone with it. Overall prom was a lot of fun.

Quote, Summary, or Paraphrase Paragraph
Welcome students! Today, I am going to teach you about what evidence is, when to summarize and what a summary is, when to use a quote and what a quote is, when to paraphrase and what a paraphrase is. It will be easy to understand if you pay attention and listen. Evidence is text you find in a reliable source that helps to answer a question. Summarizing is when you retell the main ideas of the text using fewer words. You summarize evidence when it is a long selection of text, such as multiple sentences or a whole paragraph. Learning to summarize is very important in school, and you will use it many times for class. A quote is a direct copy from the text exactly as it appears in the text with quotation marks around it. You quote evidence if it is a short and very specific section of the text that you need to copy exactly to keep its meaning. Another thing you need to remember is what paraphrasing is. Paraphrasing is when retell the ideas using your own words. You paraphrase evidence if it is a short and simple selection of text that you can easily put in your own words. One thing you should do to help you remember this is to practice using it, this will help you to remember each one and what they mean.
Comment-Seeking Post
Everything happens for a reason, right? Lately things have been a little hard for me. I have been trying to deal with issues I have had with my family. Every kid has family problems, but recently mine have been over excessively wrong. I have been trying to focus on other things like school and work. I recently just started work at Foot Locker, and I really like it. It is a lot of fun. The people I work with are super funny and I'm always laughing at work. Going to work is probaly my favorite part of the day because I like spending time away from the campus and all the drama. My boss's name is John and he is one of the funniest people I have ever met. I love working there. The only hard part about working is trying to keep up with my school work. I go to work at 4:30 and I dont get back until about 10:00, so it is getting hard to fininsh all of my work for school. I hope that I can make up all the work that I've missed. School is sometimes fun, but my favorite part of school is when Ms. Olivia comes to our class on some days, because she makes class a lot of fun. I can wait until we finish our playwrights, because I can wait to see how everyones plays come out.

President Obama’s Big Announcement
To learn about Osama Bin Laden's death I read the article http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/05/02/bin.laden.dead/index.html and I watched the news the night President Obama announced the news. First the government got information about where Osama's location, that they confirmed that, that was his real location. President Obama sent out a small group of seven U.S. troops the find and kill Osama Bin Laden. Osama was shot in the head and killed. His body is now in the hands of the U.S. They gave him a grave at sea so that his grave would not be a symbol for the Al Quida.
Now that Osama is dead I predict that there are going to be counter attacks from the Al Quida, because we killed their leader. I think that the Al Quida are furious about their leader being killed, and also that many people from the U.S. celebrated his death. There are going to be many retaliations from the Al Quida. I beleive that the goverment has to be extreamly careful with their actions now that they killed Osama. I hope that the future of our safty in the country is still at a good level, to where we can not worry about attacks from Al Quida.

My Feelings about the Upcoming CSTs
At school there are going to be upcoming CST testing and I am a little bit scared, because I don't like to take major tests in school like the CAHSEE. I get really nervous and sometimes I will forget what I learned at school and freeze up on some of the questions. I really hope that this year I will do good on the CST, because I know that I am smart and that I can do do good if I focus and work hard. I also hope that am prepared when it comes. I hope that our whole sophomore class does really good and that we all pass with at least an at grade level.

This weekend was a lot of fun. We had family day, and I was preforming in the talent show with our group called "La Familia de Hip-Hop" We were dancing to "Whip Your Hair" and "Get Out of Your Mind" Everyone in the crew did really good, it was Jabriel, Shaurice, Marvin, Tierra, Ivan, and I. I was really nervous to go on stage and preform because I had never preformed anything in front of anyone before. We we first were called onto stage I was nervous because I thought that I was going to mess up or get too scared and not preform. When the music started to play and I started to dance I stared to feel better because I knew I was doing good, and I was having a lot of fun doing it. My mom came to family day, but I wish that my sister, Leandra, would have been able to come. Afterward we walked around, and I showed my mom my house and my room. Then later some old friends from my old school came, they showed up late because they had to work, but I was still really grateful that they got to come, we ate dinner together and had a really good time together. I hope that next Family Day will go as good as this years did, but even better.

Playwrights Project Inspired by Music Paragraph
In class today we listened to music to help us come up with ideas for our playwrite projects. At first I had a lot of ideas on what I could do, but then later when it came time to write them down i couldn't think of anything! While listening to the music I still couldn't think of what i could write about. I only got one idea the whole time in class. While I was writing I felt frustrated and confused because I had no ideas of what i could write about. When I got home it was easier to figure out new ideas but I dont think that I really want to write about any of the ideas I had.

UnGoogleable Research Paper Website Selection Reflection
Today in class I researched websites For my research topic, "How does the media affect teens image on themselves?" To search for websites I used different search engines and looked for websites that were reliable. Looking for good websites is sometimes difficult because a lot of websites are not good sources. When I found a good website I added it to my delicious account so that i can have it for later, and I read through them to make sure that they are good resources. I knew some websites were unacceptable because they had many advertisements, were from other students, came from question and answer websites, and had no authors. I know the websites I selected were good because they had authors, were from universities, had dates, and little to no advertisements. Tomarrow I will expect that Ms. Priester will make us create a graphic organizer to put all of our information together, to make an outline and to find more information.

Third Quarter Awards Review
On Friday we had an awards assembly with the whole school in the auditorium. All the teachers gave out awards to who they thought was doing the best in their class, then they called up everyone who had good grades for the third quarter. I got called up four times, the first one was for being a part of the Key Club, the second was because my social worker picked me for the triple A award (Athletics, Academics, and Attitude) The third one I called up for was for having a 3.5-3.9 GPA. I'm not really sure what my GPA was but I know that I did a good job. I hope that this quarter I can get a 4.0. The last thing i got called up for was because I got invited to the Knotts Berry Farm trip, because I didn't get any D's or F's all year. My best friend got a 4.0 GPA and I was super proud of her I hope that this quarter I can catch up to her. I like having the award assemblies because it recognizes all the people who worked hard for their grades and who are doing good.

UnGoogleable Research – What I Already Know
My focus question is "How does the threat of deportation affect undocumented American teenagers?" What I already know about this topic is how most undocumented teenagers show large states of depression, and are often worried. I also know how the emotional state of some teens is more vulnerable. They have more that they need to worry about and tend to have higher stress levels. Additionally many teens stress on the fact of having to be separated from other family members and how their everyday lives are. By doing research I hope to learn how this threat greater affects them, and how they cope with it.
“Switch” Play Audience Member Experience
Being an audiance member I felt like I was actually one of the characters in the play. In the beggining of the play, I was confused on what was going on and how it was working, but as it continued it started to get better and i understood it more. The play really brought some memories back and some of the situations I had been in. When the child was taken away from his mother, and he was crying. It made me feel so emotional, because I thought of the time when i had gone trough the same thing, and how it had made me feel. My favorite part of the play was when it was like they were in a game show and when they didn't want to play anymore, they distroyed it, and left. This part of the play made me feel like they had acomplished everything that they had worked for and were done with all their problems of the foster care. The whole play made me really relize how many other foster teens feel that same way I do and how I am not the only one who feels that way.

Homonyms Poem
School is a crazy and sometimes fun place. It's a place where you wear what is right Its best thing do is to learn until you've won. You can write a poem, read a book, or solve a math problem. Wear the school colors like blue and silver. Learn what to buy at the store to calculate your money. When it's time to say bye to your school, it is a sad but fun time. Now it is time to celebrate and not worry about the weather. Or worry about whether or not you should wear your new shoes. Its your time to shine and you're the one who made it to the end. Do not worry about when your project is due. Now the only thing to worry about is if you sent in your payments, and the couple of cents you have in your pocket.

I finally got am A in Priester's, and I know I can make it again. I am excited for this quarter because I am really going to get a 4.0.

What I Learned in the 3rd Quarter of English 10
This quarter i have learned a lot more. At first it seemed like we were just reviewing everything that we had already learned from our freshmen year, but then it started to get a lot harder. We went deeper into the subjects. The first thing we worked on was symbolism and allegory. Those two were the hardest things for me to learn and understand. Poetry was easy and fun. We learned all about imagery and figurative language within the poetry. We made posters and learned about different parts of figurative language like Idioms, similes, and metaphors. First and second person was easy. I remembered everything we had learned about it from last year which made it easy for me. I am glad that we reviewed everything from our freshmen year and went deeper into it because it helped me to better understand every that we had learned.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Breaking News
Breaking News! A Vietnam soldier by the name of Billy Boy Watkins died today, April 13, 1968 at 3:27, from fright. Apparently the soldier stepped on a land mine and was seriously injured. Fortunately the injury was not fatal. When the soldier reached the medical tent he was in great fear for his life, the soldier had a fear that he was going to die. This stress caused the soldier to have a heart attack which killed him. I was a great loss for his family and his team. A service is to be held in his honor in one week for his friends and family. We are all grateful for the soldiers’ efforts in Vietnam. Coming up a breaking story….

CAHSEE Reflection
Today we took the English portion of the CAHSEE. I was nervous at first because I didn't think I was prepared. When we got into the auditorium I didn't know haw hard the test was going to be. Reading the stories and answering the questions made me less tense about it, because they were not so hard. When I got to the essay portion of the test I knew I was going to be good because Ms. Priester helped us to prepare for that part before in class but with a different part. The prompt was not hard, and I did great. I wrote five paragraphs, and each one sounded extremely good. I was so happy that I was prepared for this part of the test. After and hour and a half we took a break and ate doughnuts that Ms. Priester brought for us, it was kind of fun. The second portion of the test was easier then the first, because it was just more stories we had to read and answering simple questions. Some of the stories were boring but one or two were interesting. I am more nervous for the math part of the test tomorrow because I am not as strong in math as I am in English. I am presumptuous that I will pass the math because I took more time to prepare for it then I did for the English part. Mr. Fenick has been a huge help to all of us by having his after school preps. These helped us to prepare for the math section and to help us remember simple concepts that most of us forgot. I am grateful to have the support of these teachers.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph
When I am 18 I think that I would want to enlist in the military. The military has many things to offer. There are veterans rights and benefits that would be good to have afterward, but I would mainly be doing it to help other people. If I were to enlist in the army it would be to protect other people, and to have the opportunity to help other people even in other countries. I think it would be a good opportunity to learn many things like discipline and honor. People who are in the military are usually more respected and looked up to by others. One thing I would not want to happen would for me to be drafted. Being drafted is forcing someone into war with out them being willing. People who are really against war could be drafted and never want to go in it, but would be forced. Wars traumatize many people and if I didn't want to go into a war I would not want to be drafted.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison
Primary and secondary sources are similar in only a few ways. They are similar because they are both sources of information where someone gets there knowledge from. They are more different then they are similar. A primary source is different because it is information from a direct source. An example of a primary source would be an autobiography, diary, personal essays, or an interview. Secondary sources are a source that is a second hand account, and the author of it was not there for the accounts. Examples of secondary sources are biographies, history books, and newspapers. Primary and secondary sources are helpful because they are usually a good source of information and are extremely helpful when someone is in need of information.
Feelings about the CAHSEE
This year I am taking the CAHSEE (High School Exit Exam) and I am so nervous. I know that I will do good because I have been going to all the CAHSEE preps that Mr. Fenick has held for us. In the preps there has olny been about 4 or 5 kids that have shown up to each one. I hope that the other kids who did not come to the preps do good. I really hope that I do good on it the first time because I don't want to have to take it over again next year in my junior year. I cant wait until this is over so that we do not have to do any more PLATO in our English class for warm-ups because they are starting to get a little boring and even though I am learning many things from them that I should already know , I would rather be doing more interesting things for class. I know that I am going to do good though. I know that I am prepared for it, that morning I am going to wake up early in the morning and make sure I have a good breakfast.

"Ex-Basketball Player" Paragraph
Athletics are important to me because they help to keep me active, and they keep me out of the school drama. Althetics are a good motivation for students who don't usually keep their grades up. In order to play a sport you have to have a 2.0 or higher, so playing sports for many students is a good way to keep their grades up to a point where some students don't usually have. Sports help students to learn about teamwork and also about how to have good listening skills. By working together on a team it makes it easier for kids to work together, and by listening in to their coach they develop good listening skills. These are some of the reasons that athletics for students are important to me, I think that we should athletics in all schools and continue to have them all the time.
Why did John Updike write "Ex-Basketball Player"?
I think that John Updike wrote this poem because he wanted to show how people who have a lot of potential and dreams can end up not doing what they wanted to do. Even if you are super good at something and think you may be doing it forever for the rest of your life you may not get what you want. You should always have a back up plan just incase your first plan does not work. Working hard in school could get someone farther in life than trying to be good at a sport.

Persuading You to Read a Blog
Sophomores should comment on freshmen blogs for many reasons. Freshmen are younger and more inexperienced in their writing. By sophomores commenting on freshmen blogs it gives a good criticism of what their writing could use in order to improve. It can help to improve the writing skills of freshmen by them reading and putting into use our advice. Other sophomores shuld also comment because the more feed back they get from their peers the more advice they can get for their writing. This could be a very good advancement for the freshmen.
What It Means to be a Sophomore
To me being a sophomore means that we are at a higher level in maturity then we were our freshmen year. We work harder to achive our goals and we go stranger then we did. We are at our stage of high school where we are getting to the older point but are not yet upper classmen. I am glad to be a sophomore, but I can not wait till we get older so we can be more responsible for everything we do and have. The older we get the more responsiblity and independence we gain.

SPA Poem
SPA is a crazy place
It’s always a one way chase
Everybody’s trying to achieve
But to do it you have to believe
Good things and bad things all around
And I think I might drown
I’ve been here so long
I want to move to Hong Kong
When I leave I know I going to miss the simple things
It will be time for us to spread our wings
I will always remember it here
When I’m leaving I might start to tear.
It’s always a one way chase
Everybody’s trying to achieve
But to do it you have to believe
Good things and bad things all around
And I think I might drown
I’ve been here so long
I want to move to Hong Kong
When I leave I know I going to miss the simple things
It will be time for us to spread our wings
I will always remember it here
When I’m leaving I might start to tear.

Free Choice Blog Post
I recently really started to like Justin Bieber. I never used to like him at all. I didn't really like any of his songs except for two, "Never Say Never" and "Up". I thought he was so ugly too. I never liked how he looked because his hair used to make him look awkward. I went to go see the Justin Bieber movie, "Never Say Never" with my house, and I started to see how he recently looks and how his singing has improved so much. In the middle of the movie I started to like how he sings because he has a unique voice and all his song lyrics are really good. I really like him now, all of his songs are constantly stuck in my head. I don't know but I might have Bieber fever.
“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA
If there was a revoltuion at San Pasqual Academy where the students took over, there would be many things that would be different. At first all the students would work together to overthrow all the staff and supervisors. They would work together and come up with palns undercover. After Whent the student take over there would be a power struggle over who would be the leader. Everyone would want to be the leader of the campus and for who would make the rules of the campus. I think ther would ba a lot of arguing and fighting at first but, then ther would be vote. There would be some unreasonable rules and some good ones. After a couple of months of the students ruling things would start to fall apart and the old campus staff would try to take over again. The students would fall because of others wanting to take over, like staff and other students.

"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011
I can relate to the poem "Grape Sherbet" because I have had get togethers before with friends and sometimes family. Spending time with other people that you care about is always fun. It is always fun to be around other people you love and have fun together. In the poem the speaker talks about their father and how they loved them so much, and everything he did. This is nice because they are remembering their father and what he was like. Some phrases that help me to imagine this poem are, "through the grassed- over mounds," "the diabetic grandmother stares from the porch." these phrases allow the reader to imagine the scene of the poem.

Memorable Valentine's Day
The most memorable Valentines day I had was when I was in third grade and I had my first Valentine. This boy who I liked asked me to be his Valentine and, I was so nervous that I studdered a yes and then walked away really fast. On valentines day I came to school and he was waiting for me by the front gate with a big heart Valentine that he had made himself, I thought it was so cute! It said "Happy Valentines Day, my Valentine!" I was so shocked, that my whole face turned red. I handed him his Valentine that I had gotten him which was just something I had gotten from the store so I felt bad because it wasn't as special as his was. It was a small card that said "XOXO," and had two pieces of chocolate taped to it. I was so embarrassed because all of my friends were staring at us and just said thank you and walked away as fast as I could. When I got over to all my friends they were laughing at me but I didn't care, it was my most favorite Valentines day I ever had.

"I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca," Emotion
The emotion that "I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses is extream love. The speaker of he poem has a very strong love for someone and he is showing it through the poem. When he says that he would take care of her if no one else would, this shows that he has a really strong love for her even if no one else did. In addition, when he says that he has nothing he can give to her but still trys to give her something anyways, shows that he really cares for her and will try to give her something even if he has nothing to offer.

:"Remember" Become a Poem Paragraph
Entering the poets world we think that she wrote this poem because she wanted people to know that thing may seem bad at times but they can always be worse and they can get better. If I was the poet I would have published this poem because it tells people that other people have worse problems and they can still over come them. The author want people to remember the other people who helped them to grow and make it to where they are.

Being a Teacher Reflection Paragraph
Being a teacher for a day is a fun job. Me and my partners, Amy and Olivia, had a good time doing it. Putting everything together was the hardest part of being a teacher. Creating a lesson including, the warm-up, classwork, and homework took longer then I had expected to do but teaching to the class was a lot of fun for us because it let us experience what it is like to be on the other end of the class room. Being a teacher for a day has really help me to appreciate what the teachers do for us and what they have to do just to create one lesson plan everyday. I think being a teacher could be a good thing and at times it could be fun, but I don't think I would like to be a teacher. Being a teacher requires dealing with all the kids in a classroom and sometimes they can be undisciplined, and I don't think I would like to deal with them. I do like having the power to help and teach though. Speaking in front of a group of people can sometimes be difficult but it was actually a fun experience.

"Same Song" New Look
When I was twelve I was really fat and chubby. I had extremely frizzy hair and had no cute clothes. I felt so self conscious, and I had extremely low self esteem. I thought that if I could change the way I looked it would change the way I felt about myself. I started to work out and eat less and I started to loose weight, as the weight came off I started to feel more confident about myself. I learned how to control my hair and make it calm down. I got slightly taller, which made me feel more grown up and older. Everything started to look better and I stared to be more confident with myself and other people. I loved my new look and I was determined never to go back to what I used to be, ugly. The change in my look has made my self esteem higher and I feel like a better person.
Imagery in a Song
What a Wonderful World by Iz is a wonderful song that many people enjoy and is a very good song that I like. "Well I see skies of blue, and I see clouds of white, and the brightness of day" This is meaningful part of the song that contains a lot of imagrey and is meaningful beacuse it talks about everything in the day and sky which gives a very happy feeling. "The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky, are also on the faces of people passing by, see friends shakin hands saying, 'How do you do?' they're really sayin,'I, I love you." This is a very meaningful verse becuase it relates to many people and what they think of their friends and family. "Oh, someday I'll wish upon a star, wake up where the clouds are far behind me, where trouble melts like lemon drops, high above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" This is an extreamly good verse of the song becuase it decribes peoples hopes and dreams of being far away and in there own world. This is meaningful to me because I have my hopes and dreams and I wish for them to come true.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem
"Heart! We will forget him!" by Emily Dickinson is an excellent poem that I would recommend to many people. This is a good poem because it talks about love and heartbreak which many people can relate. It is a unique and interesting poem because the speaker of the poem talks to her heart directly as if it were another person. This poem tells of a woman's struggle to forget her old love, and for her heart to forget him too. A reason someone might not want to read this poem is it is kind of hard to understand for lower level readers. It has some hard sentences and older writing methods that are hard to understand. It is a difficult poem for many people. Although it is a difficult poem I recommended that people read it because of its mood and the emotions in the poem that make it so interesting.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph
"All The Things I Love About You" by Joanna Fuchs has imagery in it that sets the mood of love and caring for someone. "I love you for the warm sweet affection in your eyes when you look at me," this is an example of sight because she can see his eyes and the ways he looks at her. "the special smile you save only for me," this is also an example of sight because She can see his smile when he smiles at her. "reaching out to hold my hand" this is an example of feel because the feel of his hand and hers together. The use of imagery in poems help to express feelings because with all the senses told of the speaker, the reader can sense how it feels to be where they are and see the things they see, this helps the reader to know what it feels like to be the speaker and it makes it easier to understand the authors emotions.

Dream House Paragraph with Imagery
My dream house is a big mansion that sits on top of the water in Bora Bora, Tahiti. It would have glass floors so you can see the fish swimming at the bottom, white walls, colors everywhere, white and black furniture, and a huge master bedroom. You can taste the wonderful food prepared by the master chef of the kitchen. You can smell the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen and the cool ocean air coming in and out of the house. You can hear the birds singing and whistling outside, and the water's waves rushing back and forth. All the furniture and carpet is so soft that if it was compared to a cloud, it would be softer. Everything in the house would be amazing.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection
My goals for this qaurter were to try to get a 4.0 at the end of the qaurter. To achieve my goal I have been trying to turn in all my work and I have been studying for most of my tests. Somethings I need to do differently is to turn in all my work on time instead of late. I also need to study more often for all my upcoming tests in every class I have. I know that if I do all these things and achieve my goal at the end of the quarter I will feel acheived and proud of myself because I know that I can do anything if i push myself and put my mind to it.

Poetry Experience Paragraph
I poetry studied poetry for a while in all my grades. Every year we study poetry and we are going to again this year. I have learned a lot about poetry over the years, like how to understand them, and how to write poems of our own. I have studied poetry in the past like in my freshmen class by reading them, writing them, and doing projects on them. Sometimes when I have nothing to do I will write poetry about experiences I have had or things I think about. This unit I hope to learn a lot more about poetry like haikus, and limericks. I would also like to understand some of the more complicated poems, and their meanings.
Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection
Over the past few weeks our English 10 class has been studying about sybolism and allegory. We have studied a lot about symbolism. We have read stories and written paragraphs tyo learn and show our understanding of it. We also learned alot about allegory. For this we read a play called "Animal Farm", it was very interesting. Then we made graphic organizers about the charcters and allegory. my favorite assignment was makeing the graphic organizer about all the characters in "Animal Farm". It was fun because we got to make them with partners and we also got to compare all the characters of the story to a trait that many different people have. I think that I learned a lot about sybolism and allegory in this unit. Our whole class did a great job!

“Animal Farm” Character’s Symbolic Meaning Paragraph
In the story “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the character Snowball represents bravery and initiative. For example when snowball comes up with the idea of the windmill after researching and drawing up plans, he shows initiative because it shows his leadership and how he was smart. When he stood up to Squealer and Napoleon to argue that the windmill would make less labor for the animal all the animals agreed and then Napoleon scared Snowball away with the dogs. This showed Snowball’s bravery when he stood up to them and no one else would. People who take initiative and are brave usually are successful leaders and have many people support and follow them.
Animal Farm to the Real World
In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, where all the animals escape the Manor Farm, after not being fed all day by Farmer Jones, and form their own farm, has allegorical meaning. For example it could represent when people in a country of group are either not being treated right or they don’t like the laws or expectations they will usually leave and try to form their own group. An example of this is if there was a group of friends and some of them felt like they weren’t being treated right they leave and form their own group of friends. Even though most stories about animals are written for children, this story represent many more complex situations and symbolizes much more then just talking animals. This story is mainly for older readers because to understand the symbolism and the meaning behind ever character the reader would have to pay close attention to detail.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism
The San Pasqual Academy mascot is the Dragon. We are the dragons because the dragon symbolizes strength and power. San Pasqual is a strong place to be because of all the people and support we give to each other and the support we get from the adults on campus. We are a campus of strong students and leaders. The dragon is the best mascot for our school because we are not only good students but we have many other things that show strength in our school, like athletics. Our campus is full of student athletes who put all their determination into there passion for sports. I am proud to be a dragon because I love to represent my school and everyone in it.
