"Ex-Basketball Player" Paragraph
Athletics are important to me because they help to keep me active, and they keep me out of the school drama. Althetics are a good motivation for students who don't usually keep their grades up. In order to play a sport you have to have a 2.0 or higher, so playing sports for many students is a good way to keep their grades up to a point where some students don't usually have. Sports help students to learn about teamwork and also about how to have good listening skills. By working together on a team it makes it easier for kids to work together, and by listening in to their coach they develop good listening skills. These are some of the reasons that athletics for students are important to me, I think that we should athletics in all schools and continue to have them all the time.
Why did John Updike write "Ex-Basketball Player"?
I think that John Updike wrote this poem because he wanted to show how people who have a lot of potential and dreams can end up not doing what they wanted to do. Even if you are super good at something and think you may be doing it forever for the rest of your life you may not get what you want. You should always have a back up plan just incase your first plan does not work. Working hard in school could get someone farther in life than trying to be good at a sport.

Persuading You to Read a Blog
Sophomores should comment on freshmen blogs for many reasons. Freshmen are younger and more inexperienced in their writing. By sophomores commenting on freshmen blogs it gives a good criticism of what their writing could use in order to improve. It can help to improve the writing skills of freshmen by them reading and putting into use our advice. Other sophomores shuld also comment because the more feed back they get from their peers the more advice they can get for their writing. This could be a very good advancement for the freshmen.
What It Means to be a Sophomore
To me being a sophomore means that we are at a higher level in maturity then we were our freshmen year. We work harder to achive our goals and we go stranger then we did. We are at our stage of high school where we are getting to the older point but are not yet upper classmen. I am glad to be a sophomore, but I can not wait till we get older so we can be more responsible for everything we do and have. The older we get the more responsiblity and independence we gain.

SPA Poem
SPA is a crazy place
It’s always a one way chase
Everybody’s trying to achieve
But to do it you have to believe
Good things and bad things all around
And I think I might drown
I’ve been here so long
I want to move to Hong Kong
When I leave I know I going to miss the simple things
It will be time for us to spread our wings
I will always remember it here
When I’m leaving I might start to tear.
It’s always a one way chase
Everybody’s trying to achieve
But to do it you have to believe
Good things and bad things all around
And I think I might drown
I’ve been here so long
I want to move to Hong Kong
When I leave I know I going to miss the simple things
It will be time for us to spread our wings
I will always remember it here
When I’m leaving I might start to tear.

Free Choice Blog Post
I recently really started to like Justin Bieber. I never used to like him at all. I didn't really like any of his songs except for two, "Never Say Never" and "Up". I thought he was so ugly too. I never liked how he looked because his hair used to make him look awkward. I went to go see the Justin Bieber movie, "Never Say Never" with my house, and I started to see how he recently looks and how his singing has improved so much. In the middle of the movie I started to like how he sings because he has a unique voice and all his song lyrics are really good. I really like him now, all of his songs are constantly stuck in my head. I don't know but I might have Bieber fever.
“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA
If there was a revoltuion at San Pasqual Academy where the students took over, there would be many things that would be different. At first all the students would work together to overthrow all the staff and supervisors. They would work together and come up with palns undercover. After Whent the student take over there would be a power struggle over who would be the leader. Everyone would want to be the leader of the campus and for who would make the rules of the campus. I think ther would ba a lot of arguing and fighting at first but, then ther would be vote. There would be some unreasonable rules and some good ones. After a couple of months of the students ruling things would start to fall apart and the old campus staff would try to take over again. The students would fall because of others wanting to take over, like staff and other students.

"Grape Sherbet" Blog post 2011
I can relate to the poem "Grape Sherbet" because I have had get togethers before with friends and sometimes family. Spending time with other people that you care about is always fun. It is always fun to be around other people you love and have fun together. In the poem the speaker talks about their father and how they loved them so much, and everything he did. This is nice because they are remembering their father and what he was like. Some phrases that help me to imagine this poem are, "through the grassed- over mounds," "the diabetic grandmother stares from the porch." these phrases allow the reader to imagine the scene of the poem.

Memorable Valentine's Day
The most memorable Valentines day I had was when I was in third grade and I had my first Valentine. This boy who I liked asked me to be his Valentine and, I was so nervous that I studdered a yes and then walked away really fast. On valentines day I came to school and he was waiting for me by the front gate with a big heart Valentine that he had made himself, I thought it was so cute! It said "Happy Valentines Day, my Valentine!" I was so shocked, that my whole face turned red. I handed him his Valentine that I had gotten him which was just something I had gotten from the store so I felt bad because it wasn't as special as his was. It was a small card that said "XOXO," and had two pieces of chocolate taped to it. I was so embarrassed because all of my friends were staring at us and just said thank you and walked away as fast as I could. When I got over to all my friends they were laughing at me but I didn't care, it was my most favorite Valentines day I ever had.

"I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca," Emotion
The emotion that "I am Offering This Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses is extream love. The speaker of he poem has a very strong love for someone and he is showing it through the poem. When he says that he would take care of her if no one else would, this shows that he has a really strong love for her even if no one else did. In addition, when he says that he has nothing he can give to her but still trys to give her something anyways, shows that he really cares for her and will try to give her something even if he has nothing to offer.

:"Remember" Become a Poem Paragraph
Entering the poets world we think that she wrote this poem because she wanted people to know that thing may seem bad at times but they can always be worse and they can get better. If I was the poet I would have published this poem because it tells people that other people have worse problems and they can still over come them. The author want people to remember the other people who helped them to grow and make it to where they are.

Being a Teacher Reflection Paragraph
Being a teacher for a day is a fun job. Me and my partners, Amy and Olivia, had a good time doing it. Putting everything together was the hardest part of being a teacher. Creating a lesson including, the warm-up, classwork, and homework took longer then I had expected to do but teaching to the class was a lot of fun for us because it let us experience what it is like to be on the other end of the class room. Being a teacher for a day has really help me to appreciate what the teachers do for us and what they have to do just to create one lesson plan everyday. I think being a teacher could be a good thing and at times it could be fun, but I don't think I would like to be a teacher. Being a teacher requires dealing with all the kids in a classroom and sometimes they can be undisciplined, and I don't think I would like to deal with them. I do like having the power to help and teach though. Speaking in front of a group of people can sometimes be difficult but it was actually a fun experience.

"Same Song" New Look
When I was twelve I was really fat and chubby. I had extremely frizzy hair and had no cute clothes. I felt so self conscious, and I had extremely low self esteem. I thought that if I could change the way I looked it would change the way I felt about myself. I started to work out and eat less and I started to loose weight, as the weight came off I started to feel more confident about myself. I learned how to control my hair and make it calm down. I got slightly taller, which made me feel more grown up and older. Everything started to look better and I stared to be more confident with myself and other people. I loved my new look and I was determined never to go back to what I used to be, ugly. The change in my look has made my self esteem higher and I feel like a better person.
Imagery in a Song
What a Wonderful World by Iz is a wonderful song that many people enjoy and is a very good song that I like. "Well I see skies of blue, and I see clouds of white, and the brightness of day" This is meaningful part of the song that contains a lot of imagrey and is meaningful beacuse it talks about everything in the day and sky which gives a very happy feeling. "The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky, are also on the faces of people passing by, see friends shakin hands saying, 'How do you do?' they're really sayin,'I, I love you." This is a very meaningful verse becuase it relates to many people and what they think of their friends and family. "Oh, someday I'll wish upon a star, wake up where the clouds are far behind me, where trouble melts like lemon drops, high above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" This is an extreamly good verse of the song becuase it decribes peoples hopes and dreams of being far away and in there own world. This is meaningful to me because I have my hopes and dreams and I wish for them to come true.

Paragraph to Persuade You to Read My Poem
"Heart! We will forget him!" by Emily Dickinson is an excellent poem that I would recommend to many people. This is a good poem because it talks about love and heartbreak which many people can relate. It is a unique and interesting poem because the speaker of the poem talks to her heart directly as if it were another person. This poem tells of a woman's struggle to forget her old love, and for her heart to forget him too. A reason someone might not want to read this poem is it is kind of hard to understand for lower level readers. It has some hard sentences and older writing methods that are hard to understand. It is a difficult poem for many people. Although it is a difficult poem I recommended that people read it because of its mood and the emotions in the poem that make it so interesting.

Imagery in a Selected Poem Paragraph
"All The Things I Love About You" by Joanna Fuchs has imagery in it that sets the mood of love and caring for someone. "I love you for the warm sweet affection in your eyes when you look at me," this is an example of sight because she can see his eyes and the ways he looks at her. "the special smile you save only for me," this is also an example of sight because She can see his smile when he smiles at her. "reaching out to hold my hand" this is an example of feel because the feel of his hand and hers together. The use of imagery in poems help to express feelings because with all the senses told of the speaker, the reader can sense how it feels to be where they are and see the things they see, this helps the reader to know what it feels like to be the speaker and it makes it easier to understand the authors emotions.
