APA Format

An APA Format is the citing of the author and the date it was written in the text. It could also be a URL from a website. Every time a source is written in the text it needs to be put in parentheses with the period at the end of the sentence after the parentheses. Citing a source means putting the resource from which you got the text from or quote. It is quoting where you got part of your text. The author only really needs to cite a source when they directly take text out of a book, newspaper, website, etc. When siting a source directly and not summarizing you need to put it in parentheses, put the date, and the author. A resource list is a list of your resources from A-Z in alphabetical order. It is important to use APA formatting so that the person reading the writing knows where you got part of your text or a quote if you use a part of text or quote and don't cite the source it is considered plagiarism.
