Blogs in School
Some of the benefits of using blogs in school is a good way to learn computer skills for when trying to get a job. It could help with typing skills and learning how to create accounts online. It also eliminates paper from being wasted and it minimizes paperwork for teachers. Some of the downfalls of using a blog in school is the lack of technology. In schools who assign homework to do a blog post it is difficult because some students might not have the access to computers and if they do they might not have internet to post on. Technology is expensive and can cost students a lot of money in order just to do homework.

Letter to Daughter
Dear Daughter, April 20,2010
I want you to know that I am going to start changing some rules about what you do on the internet, because I want to protect you. I will limit you to only an hour and a half on the computer a day unless it’s for school. Spending to much time on the computer is bad because it keeps you away from more important thing you could be focused on like school.
Another thing I will do to protect you is check your MySpace and Facebook accounts, just to look at your friends to make sure you are not accepting people who you don’t know. You do not have to tell me your password or anything else I just want to make sure you aren’t excepting people who could be cyber predators that are posing as teenagers or anyone else.
One other thing I want to make sure of is that you don’t post any pictures on the internet that are scandalous and that could attract cyber predators. Don’t post up any of your personal information because it could be information that you will regret giving out because someone might try to come to the house and take you. Don’t ever talk to someone who you think can make you feel better about yourself by try to romance you if you don’t know them. Be very cautious about what you say on the internet and who you talk to. If you ever have a doubt about someone you’re talking to, you can always come and talk to me about it and we can solve it.
Sincerely,
Your Mom

Warm-Up
I hope that this year when I go to prom that everything will be ok. At first I didn't want to go because I feel like Prom should be for all the Seniors and Juniors because that’s how it is at a real high school. All my friends told me that I should go and I didn't want to, but they kept bugging me till I would go so now I'm going and I hope that I will have fun. Now I can’t wait to go because I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope that my Senior year will be the best year of Prom for me.

Career Day
Career Day was really fun becuase I liked to meet some of the people who are working hard to go to school and work. My favorite table to talk to was the Army Strong table because they talked about staying in school, and becouse they are hard working people. The National Gaurd told us that if we wanted to join we would have to be good at math and finish high school. The San Pasqual Fire Department was the most fun because I got to try on the full uniform, which was extreamly heavy, I almost fell over. They told me about their jobs and how it takes hard work to join it.

Earthquake
I was sitting on my mom's bed watching TV with my niece at about 3:45 when the bed and the TV started shaking. I didn't know what was going on at first, then it started to get worse until the whole apartment was shaking and I could hear things clanging against the walls. My niece was freaking out. It went for forty seconds then stopped. Everything got quite then there were after shocks. It was pretty scary, because I have never felt an earthquake that big before. After it was done my dad turned on the TV again and changed it to the news and we watched them talk about the earthquake for a little while. It was crazy, and fun at the same time. That was my niece's first time experiencing a big earthquake.

Ten Second Sound Off
I have been going crazy with playing basketball every night. I've been working on my dribbling every night and my shooting. Last night I played a full court game with Clifton, Adrianna, and a bunch of other people. It was so much fun, and i got knocked down by Rashad, he practically threw me across the whole gym. It was fun though. I can't wait till the next time i can go and play a game with them again. Another thing thats going on is I can't wait till I can get my lettermen's jacket, coach said it came in the mail already, and I'm so excided to see it, but i don't get it till the sports banquet.
